In April, HGreg once again launched its annual “Buy a Car, Plant a Tree” campaign, in partnership with Tree Canada.
The company is pleased to announce the results of its campaign—the planting of over 2,072 trees in Québec. This is the eighth year of collaboration between the two organizations, bringing the total number of trees planted through this annual campaign to over 8,572 thanks to HGreg.
“As a leader in our industry, and given its nature, we firmly believe it is our duty to help preserve the environment,” explains Harry Kasparian, Vice-President of Marketing at HGreg. “It is therefore imperative that we pursue our commitment to Tree Canada again this year, and in the years to come.”
Thanks to the campaign, the trees planted this year will be located in the Pointe-au-Père area of Rimouski. Larch trees will be planted in protected peatlands to safeguard carbon-rich soils and combat the degradation of this ecosystem.
About Tree Canada
Since 1992, Tree Canada has worked relentlessly to grow Canada’s tree canopy through our greening programs, research, and engagement efforts. We are the only national non-profit organization dedicated to planting and caring for trees in rural and urban environments. Our track record of collaborating with all levels of government, the urban forestry sector, business partners, and community groups uniquely positions us to engage Canadians in the fight against climate change. With the help of our partners, we plant millions of trees every year to create more resilient ecosystems as well as healthier and greener communities.
