The Volvo XC90 is the most anticipated car release of 2022, according to a new study by Confused.com.
The research looks at 50 cars due to be released this year and analyses average global monthly search volumes in 2021. This is used to estimate an increase in interest in the run up to each car’s release. It also looks at the average search volume for the last two months to provide a weighted ranking, scoring each car out of 10.
According to this metric, the Volvo XC90 ranked the highest, with a score of 8.33 out of 10. Following just behind in second place is the Citroen Ami, scoring 7.15/10. According to a report, 14,000 customers in the UK have already registered their interest for the model.
The Lotus Emira saw the biggest percentage increase from average monthly searches in January to September compared to the last quarter of the year by 410%.
In joint fourth with a score of 5.72 out of 10 is the Honda Civic Type R and the Tesla Roadster. Claiming the fifth spot is the Acura MDX with a score of 5.48/10.
