Honda Canada has expanded the original warranty extension announced in August 2019

on the air conditioner condenser for certain 2016-2018 Honda Civic vehicles to include the following vehicles, in order to address any potential issue with these condensers, which may ultimately lead to a refrigerant leak:

• 2018-2020 Honda Civic (2-door & 4-door)
• 2017-2020 Honda Civic (5-door)
• 2018-2020 Honda Accord
• 2018-2020 Honda Accord Hybrid
• 2019-2021 Honda Insight
• 2018-2021 Honda Clarity

This warranty extension covers repairs associated with an air conditioner condenser leak resulting from a quality issue with the applicable air conditioner condensers.

The warranty extension will extend the original manufacturer’s warranty on applicable components to 10 years, from initial vehicle registration, with no mileage limit.

Honda dealers have been provided with the applicable warranty repair procedures. A process will also be available for customers who previously incurred costs to repair a component covered by this warranty extension, to make a claim for reimbursement of such costs. 

Honda Canada expects to begin sending written notification of this warranty extension to owners and lessees of included vehicles, in August 2021.

These notifications will outline the terms of the applicable warranty extension and the process for making claims to recover the cost of previous repairs that are now covered by the terms of the warranty extension.

Honda dealers will consider requests by customers for alternative transportation, or reimbursement of the same, for the period in which their vehicle is awaiting or undergoing repairs covered by this warranty extension.
