Plasnomic’s upcoming automotive plastic repair white paper outlines evidence-based repair-over-replace standards to lower parts procurement expenses for collision facilities.
Industry research organization Plasnomic has announced the completion of its white paper titled Transforming Plastic Repairs: The State of Automotive Plastic Repair 2026. Developed alongside the Plasnomic Plastic Repair Alliance Council, the report evaluates technical, operational, and financial barriers hindering the adoption of plastic component restoration across collision shops.
For Canadian collision center owners, repair planners, and paint and body technicians, high replacement rates on polypropylene bumpers and textured trim elevate overall claim values and tie up bay cycle times waiting on OEM parts shipments. According to Council President Mario Dimovski, the paper details standardized repairability parameters, technician training competencies, operational economics, and repair traceability to support consistent repair-first execution.
Plasnomic will deliver executive preview briefings to multi-shop operators (MSOs), insurance carriers, and vehicle manufacturers during the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, ahead of full publication in late November. The initiative aims to align insurer estimating criteria with proven shop-floor plastic welding and reshaping capabilities.
