In 1974, the McDermott family faced a tragic turning point when Alain’s grandfather and founder of the collision repair shop passed away in a road accident. In response, his grandmother stepped in to lead during the challenging period. A couple of years later, Alain’s father joined the business, quickly becoming instrumental in maintaining stability and driving its growth.

In the mid-‘90s, a time when increasing demand required greater involvement, Alain officially came on board alongside his father. As time passed, the shop kept pace with industry changes, including the decision to become a ProColor Collision franchise, a partnership now approaching its 20-year milestone. Today, with Alain’s sons now involved, ProColor Collision Cowansville continues to carry that generational legacy forward.
