CARSTAR is proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Robert Jasper, CARSTAR Canada’s Director of OE & National Fleet. Starting his journey with CARSTAR two decades ago, Robert has played an integral role in the organization’s expansion and success.
In a recent interview, Robert reflects on his remarkable journey with CARSTAR and the invaluable lessons he has learned, his proudest moments, and what motivates him to continue pushing for excellence in the ever-evolving collision repair industry.
A journey of growth and learning
Robert’s story with CARSTAR began 20 years ago when he was looking for a new opportunity after his previous company closed its doors. Starting with just 100 locations, Robert has witnessed CARSTAR’s remarkable growth to over 300 locations today. “The expansion has been phenomenal. We’ve adapted to the evolution of the industry and created solutions for the stores that have faced new challenges along the way,” says Robert. “One of the most valuable things about my time here has been the incredible support from both the organization and the stores. I can’t thank them enough for my growth over the years.”
A focus on people, partnerships, and community
Throughout his career, Robert has built deep, lasting relationships with store owners. “The relationships I’ve had with the stores and corporate team have gone beyond just working partnerships – they’ve become friendships. The support I’ve received has been unparalleled, and my time at CARSTAR has shaped me as both a professional and as a person.”
One of the highlights of Robert’s career was his involvement in community initiatives like the “Days of Giving” campaigns. “Back in the early 2000s, I worked with stores in Southwestern Ontario to give away vehicles and “The Days of Giving Campaign” providing gift certificates to people in need during Christmas. It was a heartwarming experience to see how much of an impact we were able to have on those communities.”
Excitement for the future
As CARSTAR moves forward, Robert has done his best in his previous role working with insurance carriers across the country to bring value to the network and is excited about the future of the company, particularly in his new role working with Original Equipment (OE) certifications and national fleet services. “The industry is changing, and being OE certified is becoming a key differentiator for shops. These certifications show customers and insurance carriers that a shop has met high industry standards,” Robert explains. In addition, Robert will play a crucial role in overseeing CARSTAR’s fleet division.
A Commitment to excellence
After 20 years with CARSTAR, Robert’s passion and commitment to the company and its mission remain unwavering. “The stores, without question, are the number one motivational factor for me. Every day, I strive to support them and help them succeed,” Robert says.
Looking ahead, Robert is eager to see CARSTAR lead the Canadian collision repair industry. “I’m excited for what’s to come and confident that CARSTAR will continue to be a leader in the Canadian collision space.”
