Saturday, September 14, the CARSTAR Johnny K group, led by Johnny Kloeckes, held an Olympic-themed staff appreciation day at CARSTAR Ellerslie, named the JKCG Olympics. The event featured a variety of engaging challenges and activities, designed to foster team spirit and camaraderie among employees.

Johnny Kloeckes, owner of six CARSTAR locations in the Edmonton area, spearheaded this exciting event. As a strong advocate for community initiatives and fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, he brought his passion for support to the forefront, celebrating his team while also raising vital funds for a worthy cause.

Celebrating hard work and dedication

“I’m thrilled to see our team come together for the JKCG Olympics. This event is not just about having fun; it’s about celebrating our hard work and dedication while supporting a cause that means so much to us,” said Johnny Kloeckes, Owner of CARSTAR Johnny K Group. “Together, we’re making a difference in our community and strengthening the bonds that make our team special.”

Participants enjoyed a range of fun events including cornhole, ladder golf, a pit stop challenge, a basketball shootout, and even double axe throwing. One of the highlights was a dunk tank, where employees had the chance to dunk their boss or coworker—all for a good cause. With donations benefiting cystic fibrosis, the event also had face painting, henna tattoos, a cotton candy machine, swag bags, and a tasty barbecue.

Highlighting the strength of the CARSTAR family

“Events like the JKCG Olympics highlight the strength of our CARSTAR family. It’s all about building connections, sharing laughs, and giving back to the community we care about,” said Ed Comerford, Area Manager of Operations, CARSTAR Canada. “It’s inspiring to see our employees come together to have fun while making a difference in our community.”

The event was an astounding success, raising a total of $700 for cystic fibrosis, with $350 coming from the dunk tank alone, matched by Johnny Kloeckes. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
