Summer may be winding down, but fundraising totals are rounding up for CARSTAR Newmarket, owned by Romena and Bisram Deokinandan.
In July, CARSTAR Newmarket hosted its fifth annual ‘Soaps it Up’ event, a community car wash geared to raise awareness and funds to support research, advocacy and care for survivors of cystic fibrosis. Each year, the team at Newmarket continues to shine bright with their resilient efforts toward fundraising and uplifting their community.
In addition to the splashing good time offered by the car washes, beloved CARSTAR plushies were also sold to raise funds. The CARSTAR Newmarket team also treated guests to barbecue and provided a bouncy castle for kids.
The fun-filled event featured appearances from Bob Kwapis, Newmarket Ward 5 councillor, the Newmarket Police Department and the Central York Fire Department. After the bubbles were popped and the cars were shined clean, CARSTAR Newmarket is proud to have raised $2,000 that will directly benefit Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
“I am elated to have raised double the amount of last year’s efforts,” said Romena Deokinandan, Owner of CARSTAR Newmarket. “Our annual ‘Soaps it Up’ event always fills the community with electrifying energy and this year the excitement made it feel like Christmas in July! We are ready to keep the momentum revved up for years to come.”
The CARSTAR Newmarket team is making a real impact in their community by showcasing their steadfast commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Since joining the network in 2012, CARSTAR Newmarket has raised thousands of dollars for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
