CARSTAR Canada is amplifying the voices of its female employees across the country that are leaving their mark on the industry.

In honour of Women’s History Month, CARSTAR is spotlighting a few of the fantastic women who help make CARSTAR an industry leader in collision repair.

Cheryl Crow, Customer Service Representation at CARSTAR Edmonton South, has been with CARSTAR for four years and decided to join the industry after hearing her wife speak favourably about her experience. She credits positive feedback from customers as the reason why she does what she does.

“The customers are the most important part of the job for me,” said Crow. “A lot of customers come to us experiencing their first accident and I take pleasure in helping them get through a stressful time. I love seeing how happy they are when they see their vehicle looking new again.”

Natasha Fowler, Junior Appraiser at CARSTAR Olds, recently celebrated her two-year anniversary with the CARSTAR family. Fowler sees untapped potential as the greatest reason for more women to join this line of work.

“If you have a facility that has no female employees, other women may be less likely to apply,” said Fowler. “This means we could be missing out on great talents like painters, technicians and future leaders or managers. It has been an incredible experience being in the industry and helping other women see the career and personal growth they could achieve by working in the automotive industry as well.”

Betty Rath, Customer Service Representation Office Admin at CARSTAR Medicine Hat, spoke to the progress of the industry she has witnessed over the past nine years of her career.

“Things have been moving in leaps and bounds for women in this industry,” said Rath. “When I started in this trade, there were not many women. Things have changed immensely since then! I definitely feel more accepted and appreciated for the skills and knowledge I bring to the workplace now more than ever.”

These strong forces are just a few of the women who keep the wheels turning at CARSTAR Canada.

“I deeply admire the dedication of the women in our CARSTAR family and greatly value their commitment to success,” said Jeff Labanovich, Chief Operating Officer, CARSTAR Canada. “The growth potential for these individuals is limitless, and I look forward to seeing them continue to break barriers.”
