CARSTAR, a multi-store network of independently owned collision repair facilities, partnered with Uniban Canada, a technology-based provider of automotive glass repair, replacement and calibration services, to deliver a deep dive training session on advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and calibrations.
On Wednesday, October 5, Bill Davidge, director of innovation and technology for CARSTAR alongside Willy Williams, technical trainer for UniglassPlus, held an informative training session for its franchise family and insurance partners.
“This was an important opportunity to educate our valued insurance partners on the changing collision repair landscape,” says Bill Davidge. “We discussed the evolution of vehicle technology, highlighted some key changes that might have been overlooked on the repair side and also provided a future outlook for how we can prepare for the future state.”
The training event included a presentation with a deep dive into technological innovation in the automobile and the subsequent effects in the collision repair field. Following the presentation and lunch, attendees went to the Driven Brands Canada training center, where Willy Williams walked the audience through a calibration.
“It’s important to use specific examples when speaking to OEM calibration recommendations or the impacts of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) have when they’re overlooked in a repair process,” continued Davidge. “Willy is an expert on all things calibration and ADAS, so it was educational for our attendees to actually have him perform a hands-on demonstration in our training center.”
Both CARSTAR Canada and Uniban Canada look forward to hosting additional training sessions as the industry voices on collision repairs and auto glass services.
