Ryan and Marnie Isherwood, owners of CARSTAR Courtenay, were honoured at the Cystic Fibrosis Canada BC/Yukon Chapter Virtual Awards Ceremony as winners of the Outstanding Community Partner award.

Designed to acknowledge non-chapter members or external organizations that have made a significant ongoing contribution to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, the Outstanding Community Partner award is a cherished accolade to its recipients.

Ryan and Marnie’s eagerness to help is heart-warming and has inspired others as they not only support our events but they organize their own car wash and garage sale each year.

“The entire team at CARSTAR Courtenay is extremely friendly and caring, both in their work and volunteer work. They make customers feel welcomed and cared for but also take every opportunity to speak about the cystic fibrosis cause as all staff is well informed,” Campbell added.

The team has also been a platinum sponsor for the past three years at Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s Brind’Amour/Nugent-Hopkins CF Golf Classic as well as participate, fundraise and provide volunteers for the annual Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History.

“Fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis Canada and raising awareness for CF in our community is absolutely a team effort,” says Ryan Isherwood, Owner, CARSTAR Courtenay. “We are honoured to accept this award; however it is with great pride that we accept this on behalf of our entire team.”

Cystic fibrosis is a fatal genetic disease with no cure. CF causes various effects on the body, but mainly affects the digestive system and lungs. CARSTAR’s support of the cause started twenty years ago when a franchise partner’s granddaughter was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.

The CARSTAR franchise family came together to rally and raise money to fight the disease and has only accelerated its fundraising efforts since. In total, CARSTAR has raised over $4M for cystic fibrosis-related charities and initiatives.

Ryan and Marnie Isherwood own CARSTAR Courtenay and CARSTAR Duncan, with both facilities having a determined focus on excellent customer service and repair quality.
