Fix Network recently announced that it was able to raise $143,828 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Canada in 2019.
The Fix Network family of franchise strategic partners and corporate team members, as well as select supplier and insurance partners, rose to the occasion and succeeded in doubling the amount raised in the previous year.
“I am completely overwhelmed by the generosity and efforts of our team in 2019 to almost double the amount raised from the previous year,” said Steve Leal, President and CEO of Fix Network World. “Our Fix Auto, Speedy Auto Service and NOVUS Glass franchise families have really stepped up to help RMHC families across the country. Working together as one team, we’ve been able to make a positive impact for the families staying at the RMHC houses.”
The network was able to reach the huge fundraising total through multiple big and small events held throughout the year. Stéphane Cirurso, owner of Fix Auto Vaudreuil and Fix Auto Montreal West, hosted a casino event in October 2019, raising more than $17,000 in a single night. During their 6th annual Matthew Salsa Memorial Golf Tournament, Fix Auto’s franchise owners George and Fatima Salsa and their team were able to raise $40,000. Fix Auto Windsor & Windsor East raised $9,000 at an annual fundraising banquet. Ricky Ahmed from Fix Auto Brooks, Jeff Leeper from Fix Auto Waterloo and Bijou Abraham from Speedy Auto Service Millwoods and Northwest in Edmonton were amongst the individual shop owners that donated funds generously to RMHC.
Additionally, many of the shop teams volunteered throughout the year at events like Footsteps for Families in Ontario, The PJ Walk for Kids in the Maritimes and the Home for Dinner initiative. Besides money, the franchise strategic partners donated time and household items to ensure that families could stay close to their sick children.
“Our goal is to ensure that families with sick children across Canada can stay close to each other and close to the care they need, so we’re grateful to the Fix Network Canada community for this much-valued and meaningful support,” said Kate Horton, Executive Director, RMHC Canada.
Fix Network, through its partnership with RMHC Canada, has selected the organization as its charity of choice. The network’s franchise strategic partners, their employees and corporate staff are constantly encouraged to participate in supporting this cause through fundraising, volunteering and awareness building.
“It’s wonderful to see our teams get out there, raise money and volunteer their time for such a great organization,” added Leal. “RMHC has been our national charity partner since June 2016 and the amount we raise and hours we volunteer increases each year; a trend that I am so proud to see.”
