Hyundai Auto Canada and its 225 nationwide franchise dealers have directed $1.1 million in funding to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children through the Hyundai Hope on Wheels foundation.
Revenue from Canadian Hyundai vehicle sales powers a $1.1-million grant to Toronto’s SickKids Hospital to subsidize clinical trial access for families.
Hyundai Auto Canada and its 225 nationwide franchise dealers have directed $1.1 million in funding to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children through the Hyundai Hope on Wheels foundation. The grant accounts for over a quarter of the organization’s total $4.1-million national contribution campaign for 2026.
For Canadian automotive retail networks, the sales-driven funding model highlights how dealer-supported foundation programs build community equity while supporting national health infrastructure. The funding includes $750,000 for the STEP-1 Program, which absorbs travel, meal, and lodging expenses for pediatric patients participating in early-phase clinical trials across Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. An additional $350,000 will fund pediatric cancer genomic research through the C17 Council.
By tying new vehicle transaction volumes directly to healthcare research and trial accessibility, the franchise network leverages its retail footprint to drive targeted ESG initiatives. The national Hyundai Hope on Wheels tour concludes its 2026 circuit with upcoming stops in Quebec City and Montreal.
