Through the sixth annual Driving to End Hunger campaign, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) and its nationwide retail network raised $340,000 and collected 2,800 kilograms of food. Organizers timed the initiative during the weeks leading up to World Food Day, achieving 100% participation across all Canadian dealerships.
For dealership owners and regional automotive retailers, involvement in coordinated national charitable efforts serves as an operational strategy to reinforce local community ties and boost brand equity among regional buyers. Beyond store-level fundraising, staff from the Mississauga head office and parts distribution center contributed through volunteer initiatives and direct food collections.
According to Food Banks Canada, demand for assistance has reached historic levels, recording nearly 2.2 million visits per month. Since initiating the national partnership six years ago, the automaker reports total network contributions exceeding $1 million along with more than 10,000 kilograms of food delivered to food security organizations across the country.
