The Hyundai Tucson led overall brand sales with 4,017 units, followed by the Elantra (2,525 units) and the Kona (2,264 units). EV volume remained steady, with 556 Kona Electric models and 312 IONIQ 5 units sold.
Luxury brand Genesis set a new Canadian record for the month of July with 805 units sold, led by the GV70 luxury crossover at 527 units. The GV80 delivered a 12 percent year-over-year increase with 173 units. Looking forward, Genesis confirmed plans to introduce hybrid powertrains for the GV70 and GV80 alongside the upcoming GV90 flagship SUV.
Accompanying the sales figures, Hyundai Auto Canada unveiled a new in-app public EV charging feature integrated into Hyundai Bluelink®, allowing owners to locate, access, and pay for charging sessions directly within the app interface.
“Our record July results reflect the continued confidence Canadians have in the Hyundai brand,” said Steve Flamand, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada. “From strong demand for vehicles like the KONA Electric and the IONIQ 5 to new innovations that make EV ownership easier, we’re focused on delivering the products, technology and experiences customers value most.”
“Genesis is meeting evolving consumer expectations through a compelling combination of future powertrain options, advanced technology, performance and a guest-first ownership experience,” Flamand added.
For Canadian retail auto dealers and industry analysts, the results demonstrate continued strength in midsize SUVs, battery-electric vehicles, and luxury crossover segments across the Canadian marketplace.
