“Recall-driven calibration work presents a significant opportunity for shops and dealerships,” said Jordan Krebs, product manager for alignment and ADAS, Americas for John Bean.

As vehicle manufacturers issue safety recalls involving front-facing camera systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), certified repair facilities and dealership service departments are facing increased demand for alignment verification and camera calibration procedures. To help service providers manage this surge in volume, equipment supplier John Bean is highlighting its Tru-Point advanced ADAS calibration system.

“Recall-driven calibration work presents a significant opportunity for shops and dealerships,” said Jordan Krebs, product manager for alignment and ADAS, Americas for John Bean. “Tru-Point helps facilities complete this work efficiently while supporting OEM calibration procedures, streamlining alignment validation and ADAS calibration workflows to improve throughput, efficiency and documentation.”

The Tru-Point platform integrates pre-calibration wheel alignment verification directly into the ADAS setup workflow. By validating vehicle alignment before executing camera or radar calibrations, the system ensures compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) service specifications. If a vehicle fails the initial alignment check, service staff can route the unit to a dedicated aligner while continuing calibration work on other vehicles, preserving bay efficiency and shop throughput.

Standard ADAS calibration procedures typically require expansive, perfectly level floor spaces and lengthy manual setup routines. The Tru-Point system addresses these physical facility limitations by measuring the vehicle’s tire contact patch and dynamically compensating for floor level inconsistencies. For front camera system recall calibrations, John Bean also provides educational resources to help service advisors explain to vehicle owners why these procedures are essential to the performance of modern driver-assistance systems.

“Through real-world demonstrations, John Bean has shown how efficient alignment and calibration procedures can reduce cycle times and improve shop productivity, ensuring proper execution and supporting safer vehicles on the road,” said Krebs. “As the number of ADAS-equipped vehicles continues to grow, Tru-Point helps shops take on increased service demand and grow the bottom line.”
