Mercedes-Benz Canada Posts Moderated Q2 Sales Amid Electric Van Growth

Navigating a shifting luxury landscape, Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network announced retail sales results for the second quarter of 2026. The manufacturer delivered a total of 8,823 passenger cars, light trucks, and commercial vans during the quarter, representing a 12.6% volume decrease compared to Q2 2025’s pacing.

The GLC and GLE lineups maintained their positions as high-volume leaders, moving ,2564 and 1,466 units respectively, while the premium E-Class sedan (+37.9%) and full-size GLS SUV (+51.0%) served as primary growth drivers.
Commercial Fleet and Alternative Powertrain Milestones
The luxury manufacturer’s data outlines specific alternative fuel trends:

Commercial Van Integration: Mercedes-Benz Vans Canada registered 1,388 deliveries (-10.9% year-over-year). However, the zero-emission eSprinter cargo platform surged by 18.3%, placing 155 electric units into active service across regional middle- and last-mile delivery fleets.

Electrified Share Expansion: Combined EV and PHEV configurations represented 15.7% of Mercedes-Benz passenger car sales (1,171 units). Plug-in hybrid variants commanded the largest share at 12.6% of overall retail volume, while pure battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) held 3.1%.
“We have seen a more moderate second quarter overall compared to 2025, but demand for our core products remains solid,” stated Susann Mayhead, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. “We are focused on maintaining our competitiveness and supporting our national dealer network.”
On the pre-owned side of the ledger, the company’s certified pre-owned division logged ,3011 transactions during the three-month period.
