Lubricant specialist ENEOS has utilized the opening round of the Formula DRIFT PRO/PROSPEC Championship (running June 18-20, 2026, at Stafford Motor Speedway) to debut a highly complex powertrain integration project. Built by automotive engineer and content creator Jimmy Oakes, the vehicle—a heavily modified 1978 Porsche 911 SC—features a naturally aspirated 400hp Ferrari-built Maserati F136 flat-plane crank V8 engine swap.
From a technical diagnostics and fabrication standpoint, the “Porrari” features several sophisticated aftermarket modifications:
-
Drivetrain & Induction Alignment: The 4.2L V8 engine block is mated to a legacy Porsche 996 manual transaxle utilizing a custom bellhousing and flywheel assembly. To optimize throttle response at its 8,000 rpm redline, the builder retrofitted individual throttle bodies (ITBs) sourced from a BMW M3 (S65 architecture) using 3D-printed intake adapters.
-
Chassis & Thermal Redesign: Converting the air-cooled 911 platform required structural cutting of the front tub to mount a high-capacity radiator and electric fan setup, alongside a 10-gallon Radium fuel cell. Furthermore, the factory rear torsion bar suspension was removed entirely, replaced with custom braced Stance Suspension coilovers and a full roll cage.

For ENEOS, serving as the official motor oil partner of the series, the high-profile drift paddock display highlights the operational durability of its synthetic OE-grade engine and gear lubricants under severe mechanical shear and thermal load.
This marketing activation underpins the brand’s growing catalog footprint across specialized independent repair and import service bays across North America.
