Consumer Interest in Cars Remains High as Canadian International AutoShow Sets New Record for Opening Day Attendance

The 2026 Canadian International AutoShow set an opening day attendance record on February 13, with 23,885 people visiting the show – up 5.5 per cent from the previous record set in 2024. Attendance at the show has remained strong since opening day, up 37 per cent year-over-year versus 2025 for the first four days, confirming that consumer interest in cars remains very high for residents in the Greater Toronto Area. More than 1,000 media and influencers also attended the Media Preview Day.
“We’re delighted to see strong interest again in the AutoShow and want to thank all the Show visitors for coming to experience the excitement,” said Jason Campbell, General Manager, Canadian International AutoShow. “We’ve worked hard to deliver a show that provides consumers with a family friendly look at the industry with elements that both educate and entertain.”
People are interested in Electric Vehicles
With more than 25 electric vehicles available within the TD EV Test-Track, consumers have been very interested in trying these new technologies, with many participants choosing to test several different models as part of their experience. To date, more than 2,000 people have spent time in Canada’s largest indoor test-track, with many more also participating in various outdoor test drive opportunities.
