The all-new, 2026 RAV4 is headed for Toyota Dealers across Canada and it’s better than ever – with more capability, improved comfort, an all hybrid and plug-in hybrid line-up that boosts performance, cutting-edge technologies, and a starting MSRP that delivers best-in-segment value for money.
For nearly 30 years, the Toyota RAV4 has led the way for the compact SUV segment. Today, it is the best-selling compact SUV in Canada, and since its Canadian debut in 1996, over 940,000 RAV4 models have made their way on to the road. Now, the next generation is set to bring an all-new adventure, with new interior and exterior styling, the latest Toyota electrified powertrains, technology updates, and improvements to comfort and handling.
“The RAV4 is more than Toyota’s most popular model – it’s the top-selling passenger vehicle in Canada (excluding pickup trucks). We’re proud of that, and proud that it’s also built right here in Canada. So even as Toyota designers and engineers worked to create a next-generation model that would improve on RAV4’s already impressive success, we have priced these new models so they represent great value for Canadians,” said Robert Tsang, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “We’ve assembled a terrific line-up of grades and configurations – and made them 100 percent electrified with a choice of hybrid-electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains in line with our commitment to reduce carbon emissions. By offering Canadians incredible choice and style – all backed by Toyota’s dedication to quality, durability, and reliability – we’re working to ensure RAV4 continues to be one of Canada’s best-loved vehicles.”
The 2026 RAV4 is exciting at every level – with many significant improvements over previous generations. The upgrades start under the hood, as every member of the 2026 RAV4 family is built around an electrified powertrain.
Every RAV4 starts with the fifth generation of the powerful and efficient Toyota Hybrid System – the world’s most popular and proven gas-and-electric powertrain. Starting with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine, Toyota engineers improved almost every component in this electrified powertrain – developing new transaxles, power control units, batteries and more. The result is enhanced motor output – rated at a 236 net system horsepower (vs. 219 hp for the outgoing model) – for improved acceleration, all while delivering even better fuel efficiency.
The manufacturer estimated city/highway/combined fuel consumption ratings are:
| Grade | City | Highway | Combined |
| LE AWD | 5.1 L/100 km | 6.0 L/100 km | 5.5 L/100 km |
| XLE AWD | 5.2 L/100 km | 6.1 L/100 km | 5.7 L/100 km |
| Limited AWD | 5.4 L/100 km | 6.3 L/100 km | 5.8 L/100 km |
| XSE AWD | 5.4 L/100 km | 6.3 L/100 km | 5.8 L/100 km |
| Woodland AWD | 5.7 L/100 km | 6.7 L/100 km | 6.2 L/100 km |
In addition, every 2026 RAV4 sold in Canada features all-wheel-drive as standard, to boost driving confidence and control under a wide range of weather and surface conditions.
The 2026 RAV4 comes in three distinct exterior styles that include core, adventure-ready, and sport designs. The core design includes LE, XLE, XLE Premium and Limited grades. The adventure-ready design comes on the RAV4 Woodland. The XSE and XSE Technology Package make up the sport grades. The chassis has also been modified, with added frame rigidity and new suspension components for a smooth, easy-to-handle RAV4. All models feature LED headlights and grade-specific alloy wheels.
Inside, the RAV4 welcomes driver and passengers to a spacious and comfortable cabin with a tech-forward aesthetic. This new generation offers more cargo capacity, versatility, and ease of access with 60/40 split fold-flat rear seats and plenty of thoughtful in-cabin storage. All models feature heated front seats, automatic climate control, and the Toyota Smart Key System with Push Button Start.
The 2026 Toyota RAV4 will go on sale at Toyota Dealers across Canada later this month. The 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid will go on sale later this spring with pricing and other details to follow. For complete and up-to-date details and specifications visit toyota.ca/rav4.
