A new camera kit released by Hunter is designed to perform quicker Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibrations by integrating the company’s HawkEye Elite aligner with Autel’s MaxiSys Aftermarket ADAS Calibration Kit.
According to Hunter, it is possible to decrease the time required to place an aftermarket ADAS fixture by 50 percent or more with the new streamlined process. A technician needs to attach the cameras from Hunter’s kit to the crossbar of an Autel MaxiSys ADAS fixture and connect it to an HawkEye Elite® aligner. After necessary adjustments, ADAS calibration can be completed with an Autel MaxiSys ADAS diagnostic scan tool in minutes.
“I’m excited to introduce this new feature to assist Hunter and Autel’s customers with performing required ADAS Calibrations,” says Kaleb Silver, Director of Product Management – Systems Technology. “Proper wheel alignment is a key first step to any ADAS Calibration, and as more vehicles add ADAS features, services like this will become more common.”
As explained by Hunter in a release, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) require technicians to perform ADAS calibrations in several situations, such as wheel alignment, part replacement, collision repair, and more. The company states that its latest camera kit, used with the HawkEye Elite aligner and Autel MaxiSys ADAS Aftermarket kit aids technicians performing ADAS calibrations to do accurate resets quickly.
