Toyo Tires recently announced that it has launched a new size—40X15.50R26LT—for its Open Country M/T (maximum traction tire) for light trucks.

Toyo has developed this latest 26-inch wheel fitment to enhance the custom designs of pickups. It fits rim widths ranging from 11- to 14-inches. The company offers coverage for this tire with its No Regrets 45-day, 500-mile trial offer.

Well-known for its durability, off-road performance, long tread life, and aggressive tread, the Open Country M/t has been designed by Toyo to help trucks perform well on pavement as well as on muddy, snowy and rocky roads—or when there are no roads at all.

The tire is equipped with the following features:

  • Its aggressive, attack tread with hook-shaped tread blocks helps deliver better off-road traction besides enabling it to perform well on-road as well.
  • For maximum traction on all types of terrain, the tire features open, scalloped shoulder blocks and over-the-shoulder tread.
  • Deep siping in the tire’s tread blocks enables it to have better grip on wet surfaces.
  • Its high turn-up, 3-ply polyester casing helps in providing better handling and durability while at the same time maintaining proper load capacity, by strengthening the tire.

In a release by the company, Toyo Tires says that the familiar Open Country M/T tread with its hook-shaped tread blocks has left its mark on the toughest places on the planet, including the Baja Peninsula and the many routes of the Dakar Rally.
