Hankook Tire will equip Audi’s new RS 4 Avant with its Ventus S1 evo2 in two sizes: 265/35R 19 98Y XL (standard) or 275/30 R 20 97Y XL (optional).

The ultra-high-performance tires promise to provide drivers with the necessary traction and power required to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds through its permanent all-wheel drive coupled with 19 or 20-inch tires.

Hankook previously supplied original equipment tires for the Audi TT RS and the RS5 Coupé.

The first Audi RS 4 Avants hit the road at the beginning of this year. Similar to the first RS vehicle, the new model has a powerful V6 bi-turbo engine, now boasting over 440 foot-pounds of torque and weighing 80kg less than its predecessor – promising to live up to the expectations of experienced sports car drivers.

Audi Sport GmbH, which specializes in high-performance vehicles, was inspired by Motorsports in both look and functionality. With that, it is compulsory that every RS model can be driven on both everyday roads as well as on the race track – a characteristic that applies to its tires as well.

Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo2 tires were required to not only pass the approval test customary to the RS branch but also had to complete 10 laps on the iconic Nordschleife track at the Nürburgring at top speed – and they effortlessly matched the sporty handling of the Audi.

The testing process proved the spottiness, durability, comfort, and safety of Hankook’s tires. The Korean company’s engineers at its German development centre ensured that comfort and durability weren’t sacrificed despite focusing on a strong grip and precise handling.

The brand’s wet weather tires offer short braking distances and above-average performance through an advanced styrene-polymer-silica.
