Auto Value, an Automotive Auto Parts Alliance brand, recently named the new Technicians of the Year from Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.

The annoucement was made at an awards banquet that concluded a week of tests, tours, racing and receptions at the Technician of the Year trip.

The company selected Ryan Booker of Driven Automotive, an Auto Value customer of Auto Electric Service in Regina, Saskatchewan as the Canadian winner. He was required to complete a rigorous application before joining the trip. Booker has won $2,500 (USD) as well as a trophy.

“This trip was fantastic,” said Booker. “Talking to people from all over North America was an absolute blast. Our hosts were friendly, and their highest priority was our comfort. It’s awesome to see techs from all over the continent come together and share their experiences and learn new things.”

From the U.S. the selected winner was Jason Jackson of Automotive Excellence, an Auto Value customer of Warren Distributing in Seal Beach, Calif. The Mexican Technician of the Year award was presented to Abelardo Portillo Alvarado of Auto Value Llantas y Servicios, a shop in Malpa Automotriz’s network in Hermosillo, Sonora. Both received $2,500 each like Booker.

“It was an honour to be in the presence of so many fantastic technicians,” said JC Washbish, Vice President of Marketing for the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance. “We are extremely proud that Jason Jackson, Ryan Booker, and Abelardo Portillo Alvarado will be representing Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper as our Technicians of the Year!”

Booker, along with Jackson, Alvarado and all finalists from the U.S. were treated to a four-day trip by Auto Value and DRiV in Dearborn, Mich. From July 15-18. On the trip, they had the opportunity to tour the historic Greenfield Village, take a carousel ride, visit the Ford Rouge Factory, experience the thrill of racing at the M1 Concourse with expert drivers and also tour the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.
