BASF recently announced that Jaguar Land Rover’s (JLR) European headquarters has entered into a partnership with the company’s refinish brands—Glasurit and R-M.
According to BASF, JLR’s choice of Glasurit and R-M was based on the support provided by the brands throughout Europe. The auto manufacturer has also globally approved the BASF brands’ paint and non-paint products that will enable body shops to do damage repair.
As per the terms of this partnership, the BASF brands will provide refinish products and colour matching systems in the capacity of being JLR’s sole preferred paint partners. Additionally, through service providers Outsorc and Auto Skills International, Glasurit and R-M will provide dedicated program managers in order to create and implement the automaker’s global Body & Paint Program in Europe. BASF states that its Advanced Business Solutions (ABS) portfolio also impressed JLR, especially due to the comprehensive training and tools for body shop and business development offered by the company.
“Jaguar Land Rover and BASF are committed to helping and developing their business partners,” says Oliver Birk, Director of BASF Global Key Account Management Automotive Refinish. “The European Body & Paint Program will offer a balanced approach, taking care first and foremost of body shop business infrastructure—facility planning, tooling, technical compliance—for example. With our consultative Advanced Business Solutions (ABS) portfolio, we will look at efficiency, performance monitoring and business development and provide the appropriate tools, individual advice and action plans to improve body shop operations and grow commercial opportunities.”
