Collision Industry Information Assistance (C.I.I.A.) has announced its basic estimating collision repair training course for 2019.

2019 being the 21st year of this popular training offered by C.I.I.A., the course aims to help repair shop or office employees, new estimators and insurance company staff who may require assistance in estimating collision damage on cars and light trucks in Ontario.

The three-day course covers introduction to estimating, understanding vehicle construction, fundamentals of estimate writing, understanding collision manuals, additional charges and collision damage analysis.

Additionally, key insurance protocols are covered by the course, such as managing KPIs, advanced technology explanations, tools for estimators, procedure pages, data look-ups, refinish and LKQ parts for better communications with insurance professionals.

The course is being offered in the following locations:

  • In Brampton, it will take place on June 11 (Tuesday), 13 (Thursday) and 15 (Saturday). The timings are noon to 9:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday and from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Saturday. The classes will be held in C.I.I.A.’s training centre at 7 Rainham Court.
  • In London, it will take place from June 26 to 28. The timings are from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on all three days. The classes will be held at 1771 Oxford St. E.
  • In Ottawa, the classes will take place from June 6 to 8 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. The location is yet to be announced.

For C.I.I.A. members, the training will cost $700 plus HST per person. Non-members may attend the course for a fee of $900 plus HST. As an added advantage for employers, C.I.I.A. is offering an 83% course cost rebate to those eligible.
