PPG has announced a new structural training video to help automotive paint technicians with refinishing Lexus vehicles sporting Structural Blue Finish.

The colour, which is offered on a limited number of Lexus LC500 models is perceived as difficult to work with. As a result, PPG has developed this training video to illustrate that isn’t necessarily the case, according to Randy Cremeans, Director of Training, PPG.

“Because Structural Blue is a very sophisticated finish,” said Cremeans, “it may look like it requires four or five-stage progression, but in truth it is a simple two-stage process that a painter can easily master.”

PPG is providing painters with OEM factory pack repair solutions. The Lexus LC500 Structural Blue factory pack, labeled as 8Y0 Lexus LC500 is offered in both PPG’s ENVIROBASE High Performance and AQUABASE Plus waterborne systems, as well as DELTRON solvent-based systems.
