The Fix Network has announced that Speedy Auto Service Guelph now has new owners—Tom and Sharon Hammond—who wish to build on the 45 years of service that the shop has provided in the community.
A proud owner of the well-established facility, Tom has been serving the industry as a technician for more than 14 years now. “I actually worked for Speedy Auto Service from 1993-1999 so I am very familiar with the value of the Speedy brand and the team here in Guelph,” he said.
The Hammonds decided on purchasing this facility prompted by Tom’s history with Speedy and their appreciation of the values and support system offered by the brand.
Currently in its 45th year in operation, Speedy Auto Service was established on May 1, 1974. The Fix Network recognized this important milestone during its Annual Regional Meeting held in September. “Even though we are new owners, it’s still great that the business itself has been recognized for diligently serving the drivers of Guelph for so many years,” noted Hammond.
As stated by the network, the focus for the Speedy Guelph team has been on providing the best possible customer service, competitive pricing and quality repair and maintenance work. Customer satisfaction for the maintenance work done on vehicles is given its due importance by the team. Staff members also try to do beyond the needful, often picking up tires for customers for a tire change-over appointment.
The Speedy Guelph facility was renovated recently under the new ownership. The facility now features a coffee station to welcome customers and its office and washrooms have been completely redone. Additionally, the shop has been re-organized completely to enhance efficiency. A new alignment hoist has also been installed.
Hammond added, “We are very excited to continue to build on the 45 year legacy of Speedy Auto Service here in Guelph. We’ve wanted to own our own business for years and we have definitely found the right fit with Speedy.”
