CARSTAR has announced that CARSTAR Courtenay, a collision repairer based in Comox Valley, has donated a pallet of food valued at more than $500 to a local food bank.

According to the network, Ryan Isherwood, owner of CARSTAR Courtenay, is a firm believer in giving back to the community it is serving. Isherwood is backed by his team and his office coordinator Kristy Silverthorn in undertaking fundraising initiatives throughout the year. Besides raising funds for CARSTAR’s charity of choice Cystic Fibrosis Canada, they have also contributed towards providing local veterans with free windshield treatments and have supported other local fundraisers.

“The only reason we can be in the position to make donations like this is because of all the hard work our employees put in every day, at both locations,” says Isherwood, owner of CARSTAR Courtenay and CARSTAR Duncan. “Supporting causes like the Comox Valley Food Bank are important to us because it helps us spread the joy during this cheery season and ensures it’s a happy holiday for everyone in the Comox Valley area.”

A non-profit organization, the Comox Valley Food Bank’s mission is to reduce hunger since it was established in 1983. The organization distributes supplementary food free-of-charge to those in need. Its food distribution and collection programs are supported through the food and cash donations it receives. The bank operates over a wide range of urban and rural areas in the Comox Valley, including Oyster River, Cook Creek, Hornby and Denman Island, among other places
