Robinair has announced the launch of its new R-ID (#16990) and R-ID Plus (#16995) refrigerant analyzers that are designed to enable technicians to verify the refrigerant purity of a vehicle’s A/C system both swiftly and accurately.

Robinair has engineered the R-ID and R-ID Plus refrigerant analyzers to be used on vehicles that contain either the R-134a or the newer R-1234yf refrigerant.

Technicians can use either of the two new products, which are powered by an internal lithium-ion battery, to measure the percentage of R-1234yf, R-134a, R-12 refrigerants, as well as R-22 and hydrocarbon contaminants. Besides this, the percent of air in pure R-1234yf and R-134a refrigerants can also be measured by the analyzers. Technicians, however, will have to use an optional R-12 hose, in case they need to test R-12 refrigerant.

The user will be able to directly connect the tools to any SAE J2843 or J3030 A/C service machine through an external USB port. Both the R-ID and R-ID Plus are certified as per the SAE J2912 standard. The company has equipped each device with a large, easy to read colour display that presents the analysis results. This is designed to help technicians in figuring out the next step of an A/C system service.

Both the R-ID Plus and R-ID refrigerant analyzers contain the same features and functionality. However, the R-ID Plus has an additional internal printer to print final test results.
