The Canadian Collision Industry Accreditation Program (CCIAP) and the Corporation des Carrossiers Professionnels du Québec (CCPQ) have jointly announced that since the beginning of its partnership in October 2018, more than 300 collision repair shops in Quebec have registered with CCIAP.

The CCIAP is responsible for accrediting collision repair facilities against a collection of standards that are provided by participating OEs and other stakeholders. Managed by AIA Canada, the CCIAP is committed to and run by the Canadian collision repair industry. The association, a not-for-profit organization, aims at reaching the entire aftermarket industry

CCPQ was established in 1998 in Quebec to cater to the collision repair industry in the province. The organization has been supporting the interests and rights of all its members for the past 20 years. Additionally, it also takes care of the objectives of all industry stakeholders, such as insurers and customers.

CCPQ’s primary focus is on quality and continuous improvements in collision repair. It is also involved in promoting the professionalism and image of its members to the general public and government bodies.

“Through accreditation, AIA Canada believes in recognizing the collision shops which demonstrate that they possess the training, expertise and tools to fix the cars of today and tomorrow,” says Jean-François Champagne, President of AIA Canada. “CCPQ shares this view, so it was a natural fit to join forces with them to promote CCIAP in Quebec.”

“The CCPQ encourages its members to continue on the path towards shop accreditation,” says Michel Bourbeau, President of the CCPQ. “This recognition shows consumers, suppliers and most importantly, insurers that a shop has all the necessary infrastructure, skills, expertise and training to carry out repairs in accordance with the industry standards for precision, security and quality.”

Encouraging all shops to get accredited, both the CCIAP and CCPQ have joined forces to help build a strong collision repair industry that is trusted by consumers in Quebec and across Canada.
