More than 180 automotive manufacturers are participating in the Geneva International Motor Show, which takes place from March 8th to 18th.

All of the big names are there to show off and in some instances launch their latest automotive creations.

Several new vehicles are premiered to the general public, including an impressive number of hybrid and electric vehicles such as the Jaguar I-Pace, which has a quick-charge capacity that recharges the vehicle from 0 to 80% capacity in 45 minutes via a 100 kW high-output charging station. In spite of the fact that it is an all-electric vehicle, the SUV will function perfectly at temperatures as low as -40 C, according to the tests performed at the Land Rover cold weather facility in Sweden.

Lexus is also using the Geneva event to launch its new UX, its first urban crossover, available in both hybrid and conventional gasoline-powered versions.

The hybrid Hyundai Kona is also presented, with a base 99 kW electric motor and 39.2 kWh battery providing up to 300 km of all-electric autonomy. The upgraded version of the SUV is fitted with a 150 kW electric motor and 64 kWh battery offering up to 470 km without recharging and 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in an impressive 7.6 seconds.

Several other major automotive manufacturers are presenting vehicles including Porsche, Nissan, Toyota and Volvo.
