During the Thursday and Friday, May 30 and 31 competitions held at the Centre de Foires de Québec, competitors from the West, out of a total of 44, took the lion’s share of the medals in the Automobile technology, Autobody repair and Car painting events, winning 14 out of 18.

Alberta led the way by far, collecting six medals: one in each trade and category, three Gold, one Silver and two Bronze, followed by Manitoba and Ontario, whose competitors won Gold once and Silver twice. Quebec participants didn’t reap any rewards.

The other six medals went to regional champions from British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Northwest Territories.
