Jay Oberoi opened his Auto Parts Plus store on Elgin Mills Road in Richmond Hill 12 years ago. He soon expanded to a second unit as business grew.
But even after this first expansion, he found the warehouse was still very tight, and he didn’t have a lot of room to display products. “For many customers, they need to see the products to know we carry it. If they don’t see it they think we don’t have it,” explains Oberoi.
With the recent expansion of a third unit, when customers come through the door they now see a much larger showroom full of products. “People like to see and touch the products. They like to pick it up and read the label to educate themselves. Having a bigger showroom helps our regular customers and the DIYers who like to come in, see what we carry,” adds Oberoi.
Customer Service
The three combined units provide over 10,000 square feet of space for parts storage and a much-expanded showroom display.
“In our business, availability is number one so it is important for my customers to know I have the parts they are looking for. My goal is to have the parts they need, maybe not 100% of the time, but very close to that,” says Oberoi.
Quality Assurance
