With a focus on the future, Ford showcases 2020 models and next-generation technologies.
Ford’s most recent Fleet Ride & Drive, which took place in Toronto on Nov. 21st, introduced fleet customers to the exciting lineup of 2020 vehicles, including the all-new 2020 Escape, the 2020 Transit, Explorer, F-Series Super Duty, and F-600.
The star of the show was the stunning 2020 Escape, which is much improved over the previous generation. Notable amenities include a new configurable 12.3-inch digital cluster, as well as a head-up display that assures the driver never has to take his eyes off the road. New second-row sliding seats travel a total of six inches fore and aft, for either maximum legroom or maximum cargo room.
Engine options include a 180-hp 1.5L Inline-3 engine with cylinder deactivation, which means it can function on as little as two cylinder for maximum fuel efficiency.
Other engine options include a 190-hp 2.5L Hybrid (9.1 L/100km combined) and a 250-hp 2.0L EcoBoost. All are coupled to either an 8-speed automatic transmission (1.5L and 2.0L) or an eCVT (Hybrid).
Sharing the spotlight with the all-new Escape, the 2020 Transit made an impression since it’s now available with all-wheel-drive, an all-new 2.0L EcoBlue bi-turbo Inline-4 diesel engine, or an all-new 3.5L PFDi V6 gas engine. It also boasts a new 10-speed automatic transmission, making it both more capable and more fuel friendly.
Ford says the new 3.5-litre V6 is more fuel efficient than the outgoing 3.7-litre engine, and that the all-new 2.0L diesel engine is more fuel-efficient, quieter, and offers more power and torque than the outgoing 3.2-litre diesel powerplant.
