The 2019 CX-9 is the first Mazda to offer both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment.
Mobile apps like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are used daily by drivers to connect their smartphones to vehicle infotainment systems. According to Mazda Canada spokesperson, Chuck Reimer, theses apps are on most driver’s top-ten list of must-have features.
That said, Mazda is not only making these apps standard on the 2019 CX-9, but the company has also announced plans to introduce a retrofit package that will apply to many older model year vehicles, all the way back to the 2014 Mazda3.
The news was announced at a recent event, where Mazda also said that they’re adding ventilated front seats and a 360° View Monitor to the new 2019 CX-9. These two new features, which are also amongst the most sought-after, are exclusive to the upscale GT and Signature versions, as are the new Traffic Plus and Travel Link SiriusXM digital services.
