South-Korean manufacturer Kia honoured three times at the iF Design Awards 2017 for excellence in styling at the global level.
The Niro, Kia’s hybrid crossover, soon to be available in Canada, the Optima Sportswagon and the Rio supermini were honoured in the “Product Design” category.
Peter Schreyer, President & Chief Designer of Kia Motors Corporation, commented: “These latest iF Awards confirm the excellence of our global design team. All three models, the result of team work between Kia design centres in Korea, Germany and the United States, are highly important for our brand.”
Mr. Schreyer added that with the Niro and the Optima Sportswagon, Kia has pushed into new market sectors, and has carved out a distinctive position, while the new generation of Rio has given one of Kia’s global best-sellers a significantly changed and mature character.
Awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held on March 10 in Munich.
