Panel discussions cover a range of current issues.

This year’s Fasken Martineau Automotive Summit brought auto industry professionals from manufacturing to banking to Toronto’s Prince Hotel on June 8, to learn from the legal professionals at Fasken Martineau. The day covered a range of timely topics including the privacy issues that come with autonomous vehicles and emotional AI, and the challenges of reputation management in the age of social media. With its timing just one day post-Ontario election, government relations and strategy lawyer Robin Edger offered insights on what the new Progressive Conservative government might mean for the auto sector, including the possibility of reducing or eliminating incentives on electric vehicles; new premier Doug Ford has said he will cut taxes by 10 percent, a main source of funds for the provincial incentive programs.

Fasken Martineau has one of Canada’s largest automotive legal teams, and have often acted as advisors to OEMs.
