The shortage of automotive service technicians has doubled between 2021 and 2022. To help combat this, CARSTAR is working with local schools to support their technical programs and Earl Marriott Secondary School was honoured with a donation from CARSTAR–Maximum Collision and FinishMaster to support their automotive program.  

During the students’ lunch break, the team from CARSTAR—Maximum Collision stopped by to host a brief educational presentation. The team was able to engage with the students and talk about their interests and highlight the opportunities in the collision repair industry. Keith Deptuck and Kyle Nimmo from CARSTAR—Maximum Collision were thrilled to present a $5,000 cheque to the school’s shop teacher, Pete Harrison, for Earl Marriott Secondary School. 

Beyond proud

“I am beyond proud of my students every day, and they never fail to impress me,” said Harrison. “We are incredibly grateful for this donation and couldn’t be more thankful for the support of CARSTAR and FinishMaster.” 

In addition to the $5,000 donation from CARSTAR, FinishMaster contributed supplies and materials, bringing the total value of products delivered to nearly $10,000. This substantial donation significantly benefits the automotive programs by supporting career training and, subsequently, the industry’s future.
