Quebec-based Nova Bus has won the bid to supply clean-diesel city buses to the Baltimore region public transport system.

The five-year contract includes the delivery of 70 clean-diesel buses per year, for a total of 350 buses, including 310 forty-foot Nova LFS and 40 sixty-foot LFS Artic articulated buses. The units will be built at the Nova Bus production facility in Plattsburgh, New York. First deliveries begin in 2019 through to 2024.

The new customer, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA), will also benefit from Nova Bus training and technical support to better service its passengers.

“We are happy to count MDOT MTA among our clients. This contract, which occurred in a highly competitive environment, once again confirms the positioning of Nova Bus as a major player in urban transportation in the United States. Our consistent growth is the result of the quality of our buses and the support from our service team. We are especially proud to offer Baltimore-area public transit users buses assembled in the U. S.,” proclaimed Nova Bus Vice President of Sales, Ray Little.
