Northern Alberta’s Golf Day

Autosphere » Mechanical » Northern Alberta’s Golf Day

The AIA Northern Alberta Division Rick Gibson Memorial Fall Classic was held on September 6, 2018 at the Sandpiper Golf and Country Club in Edmonton, Alberta.

Seventy-four golfers took to the links at Sandpiper G&C to have a fun day and raise monies for their annual fundraiser—High Fives for Kids, AIA Canada’s charity.

Marcia Hay, Chairperson AIA Northern Alberta Division tells us that the funds they raise also go towards their endowment at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) which provides scholarships to Automotive Technician students.

Funds go to local charities

We learned that the final numbers have not yet been finalized, but the Division generally submits funds to High Fives then in turn ask for donations back from them to local charities.

The local charities they choose include Children’s Wish, YWCA, Stollery Hospital and Youth Unlimited. Spring seems to be the time the Division asks for and delivers cheques on behalf of High Fives to these charities.
