Continental Tire has launched its latest winter tire—the VikingContact 7—on September 1 this year.
The company is offering the new tire in 91 sizes ranging from 15 to 20 inches.
Continental explains in a release that it is essential to plan for winter tires when temperatures drop and the weather changes. The company notes that all-season tires lose their grip on road surfaces when the temperature consistently drops below 7° Celsius and therefore need to be replaced with winter tires.
For the ideal winter and wet performance, Continental states that it has engineered the new tire to have a good balance stiffness and flexibility. The tire is designed for use in snow and ice, as well as rainy weather conditions in changing seasons. The VikingContact 7 tire sports a new pattern design and also contains a special compound solution.
According to Continental, the tire’s Optimized Nordic Compound enable it to grip road surfaces well in wintry and wet conditions. Additionally, the Advanced Grip Concept aids in braking and delivering superb traction on icy and snowy roads. For precise tracking stability in adverse winter conditions, the tire is equipped with the Intelligent Pattern Design that sports an efficient groove network.
“We’re excited to be expanding our winter tire offering with the VikingContact 7,” says Travis Roffler, Director of Marketing, Continental Tire. “Utilizing several different technologies, the VikingContact 7 is the ideal tire for winter conditions. From extreme grip on snowy and wet surfaces, to enhanced traction and braking, the VikingContact 7 gives consumers the confidence they need in tricky road conditions.”
