Pirelli recently announced that its P Zero tire has been the best ultra-high performance tire by Evo magazine.

Evo, an international publication for car enthusiasts worldwide, was founded in 1998. The slogan of the magazine is “the thrill of driving”.

According to Pirelli, the P Zero tire was tested in a series of challenges by Evo along with seven other performance tires from rival brands. The tests assessed the tires on several aspects, including handling, acceleration and braking under a variety of different circumstances, both in the wet and the dry. Both objective measurements, such as assessing tire performance in controlled environment, and subjective assessments where experienced evo road testers offered feedback, were part of the tests.

As stated by Pirelli, the P Zero won by a considerable margin overall.

“Scoring no fewer than six top results, the Pirelli was especially impressive in the wet and by far the most impressive tire subjectively,” stated Evo magazine. “It set fastest laps in the wet and the dry and you could feel the grip.

The tire’s latest 18-inch size was used in the test. As explained by the company, this is size will be used at FIA Formula One World Championship from 2021 onwards. Pirelli offers its P Zero in sizes ranging from 18 to 22 inches to equip supercars and hypercars worldwide.

Pirelli notes that this is the P Zero’s second such win this year, having named the best out of 11 tires that were judged by German publication Auto Bild. The tire was praised for its “excellent performance with no weak points.”

Pirelli also states in a release that its P Zero tires are selected as original equipment for prestige cars worldwide. There are over 1,100 homologations of P Zero at present.
