Bridgetsone Americas recently announced the release of the company’s first all-weather touring tire in the U.S. and Canada—the Firestone WeatherGrip tire.

Designed for better control in wet and snowy conditions, the Firestone WeatherGrip tire is Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake certified and has been created to exceed the performance of its traditional all-season counterparts.

The tire is equipped with the Firestone brand’s latest Hydro-Grip technology package. This, in conjunction with a tread pattern designed with full-depth grooves and open shoulder slots enhance the tire’s water evacuation capability. To help minimize the risk of hydroplaning, the all-weather tire features a rounded footprint where the rubber meets the road which allows it to cut through water.

“Drivers today are looking for durable, dependable tires that work hard and keep them in control in every driving season,” says Erik Seidel, President, Consumer Replacement Tire Sales, U.S. and Canada, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations. “This is why we built the Firestone WeatherGrip tire to provide enhanced grip in wet and winter conditions, so drivers can confidently take on any forecast.”

The company has also equipped the Firestone WeatherGrip with a new technology package that is exclusive to Firestone—TrachTech. This technology leverages interlocking sipes and a full-depth tread design, enabling the tire to deliver consistent wet and snow performance over its 105,000-kilometre (65,000-mile) limited warranty.

Currently available in 33 sizes, the Firestone WeatherGrip tires fit over 60 percent of the popular cars and crossovers on the road. Bridgestone offers coverage on the tire with its Firestone 90-Day Buy & Try Guarantee. As per this guarantee, consumers may return or exchange their tires within the first 90 days if they are not happy with the purchase.
