Cooper Tire recently announced that Daimler AG has chosen its Discoverer SRX tire as original equipment (OE) for the new Mercedes-Benz GLE that will be introduced in the market this year.

The Discoverer SRX is one of Cooper’s premium all-season SUV and CUV tires. The new Mercedes model will be fitted with the all-season tire’s following versions: the 255/50R19XL and 275/50R20.

The Cooper Discoverer SRX is known for its innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship. The tire has been equipped with an advanced performance construction to help deliver optimum steering response, stability in handling maneuvers and a smooth, comfortable ride. The tread technology used on the tire facilitates better vehicle control through better traction in different weather conditions and increases fuel efficiency.

Its profile shape includes a finely tuned footprint that enables the tire to interact with the road for better vehicle control. It also features Micro-Gauge Siping as well as Aqua Vac Channels for increased stability and vehicle handling. These are wide grooves present in the tread to make the tire more resistant to hydroplaning and provide it with better control and grip in heavy rain.
