Hankook Tire recently announced that its new Ventus S1 evo 3 (K127) tire is the recipient of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019, an award for high design quality.
The victorious Ventus S1 evo 3 (K127) is a new UHP flagship tire offered by the company that is designed to deliver improved dry and wet handling performance and comfort. Designed for reduced noise and improved performance in wet and dry surfaces, the tire features extremely stiff outside shoulder and in-outside dual pitch. Interlocking outside grooves added to the tire ensure better grip and prevent hydroplaning on slick surfaces, besides securing dry handling performance. The tire’s design does not compromise on high fuel-efficiency and safety against high performance. The Ventus S1 evo 3 has been created to provide safety, mileage as well as enhanced handling stability.
“We are delighted to be honoured again at the Red Dot Design Award. With the addition of Ventus S1 evo 3 this year, following previous year’s multiple wins from the Red Dot Award, Hankook Tire will continue the journey to promote our excellence in product design and further strengthen our premium brand asset around the globe,” says Hankook Tire’s Hyun Bum Cho.
The Red Dot Award: Product Design is a global design award that seeks to evaluate the designs of some of the best products developed every year. Keeping up with its motto “In search of good design and innovation”, the criteria for selecting winners of the Red Dot Award include degree of innovation, functionality, durability and ecological compatibility. Selected products are comprehensively evaluated on the basis of high design quality.
Hankook Tire has been receiving a series of awards from the Red Dot Award since 2001. Its studless winter tire I FIT and the futuristic concept tire Dyna SYNC were recognized at the Red Dot Award at 2017 and 2016 respectively. Hankook’s Boostrac concept tire was named the ‘Best of the Best’ in 2015. The company considers the addition Ventus S1 evo 3 to the winners’ list this year as a significant accomplishment.
