Racing legend, Mario Andretti, takes centre stage at Atlas Tire University.

Although every session of Atlas Tire Wholesale’s “Atlas Tire University” (ATU) is informative and educational, the latest instalment of this increasingly popular trade show and training program was especially beneficial and exciting, thanks to a visit from racing legend, Mario Andretti.

Andretti flew in just to attend Atlas Tire’s “Winter Tire Training & Trade Show” program, pose for photos with Atlas Tire’s guests, as well as sign autographs.

During an on-stage interview the racing legend talked about how he was first introduced to racing as a teenager, what drove him to compete, and how he had seen tire technologies evolve during his decades-long racing career.

Andretti also offered the many tire retailers in the room a bit of advice on how to put their best foot forward when offering advice to consumers. He explained how he expects the person behind the counter to be more informed about tires, and better educated about tire technologies, than he is. That’s the secret to great service.

As always, the ATU trade show floor was well represented by all the major tire manufacturers, and the many tire professionals who attended the show walked away better prepare to face the winter tire season ahead.
