Yokohama Tire is updating its all-season lineup with the Avid Ascend GT.
A tire the company says offers better handling, long mileage, and a quiet, comfortable ride.
“We’ve enjoyed a tremendous amount of success in the H & V category with products like the Avid Ascend and Avid ENVigor,” says Andrew Briggs, Vice President of marketing for Yokohama. Briggs says the Avid Ascend GT “represents a significant step forward in terms of all-season handling, without sacrificing mileage or comfort.”
Among the tire’s benefits are:
- shorter wet braking. An all-new asymmetric tread design with a unique circumferential groove arrangement provides stopping power and enhanced handling on wet roads.
- snow braking. Hundreds of 3D sipes and a notched block design result in performance for both snow braking and handling.
- longer tread life. Yokohama’s newly engineered TriBlend compound and an ultra-square contact patch produce long, even wear and high-speed stability.
- a much quieter ride. A multi-pitch tread block variation and adaptive outside shoulder blocks combat uneven wear for a quieter ride throughout the life of the tire.
The Ascend GT is available in 50 H- and V-rated sizes. It’s designed for luxury sports sedans and coupes, along with mainstream passenger cars, and is available in sizes for 15- to 20-inch wheels. The tire comes with a 65,000-mile tread life warranty on all sizes.
