New flagship products will debut in time for the 2017 winter season.

Later this year, Nokian Tyres will launch the company’s new flagship products: theNokian Hakkapeliitta 9, designed for passenger cars, and the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 SUV for sports utility vehicles.

Nokian says they have developed a new stud technology for their Hakkapeliitta winter tires, employing different studs in different parts of the tire in order to boost active safety and adapt to all winter weather.

This patented functional studding solution promises to deliver both excellent longitudinal grip and unparalleled lateral grip when cornering under winter conditions as well as stable, comfortable bare-road handling, says Juha Pirhonen, Nokian Tyres’ Vice President, Research and Development.
