MaxSmart wheel performance data keeps drivers safe.

Maxion Wheels unveiled the industry’s first commercial vehicle connected wheel safety technology at the 66th International Motor Show IAA Commercial Vehicle trade fair in Germany.

MaxSmart combines Maxion’s truck steel wheels with sensor technology to capture and communicate a broad range of wheel and tire data to both driver and fleet.

“MaxSmart uses the kinetic energy from the wheels’ motion to continuously power the sensors that are collecting and communicating wheel load, clamp force to the axle, and tire pressure and temperature,” said Pieter Klinkers, Chief Executive Officer, Maxion Wheels. “This information is uploaded to both the vehicle and cloud, providing vehicle safety intelligence to both driver and fleet.”    

MaxSmart is currently in testing and is expected to be ready for production in 2017.
